Disobedient Objects
Pallet Camp
Protest movements often utilise tools or objects as a means of rebellion. Research, document and design my own ‘Disobedient Object’.

With the increasing possibility that the protest you are participating in may turn into an occupation, or even a riot, you need a means of not only protecting yourself from others and the elements.
Wooden pallets are common all over the world, usually discarded around markets, this free material can be used to create a number of helpful objects that will ensure you don’t have to waste money or resources when standing up for your beliefs.

The goal of these items were to be designed so they can be built as quickly as possible and be easy enough in their construction that anyone could do it. All items could be made with just the wood from one pallet but they are adaptable enough to be easily modified.

The objects created were: A handheld personal defence barrier, a free standing personal defence barrier, a bench and a personal weather protection structure.
