Mood Depth
To create your own visual index or scale.

The visual scale was inspired from old and rusty diving helmets, featuring a button which would cycle through the loop of depth allowing you to accurately choose how you felt.

I decided I would make a mood scale, there are many ways in which people try to document and represent thier mood from writing down what triggers a mood change to surrounding themselves with a colour which encourages a particular mood.
The index in which my mood scale would be measured would be depth, the depth of the sea to be exact. This brings forth much imagery, as the deeper you go the less light reaches you, the colder it becomes and you become subjected to a dangerous amount of pressure. This is quite a powerful metaphor for those who can sometimes spiral downwards as they put themselves under increasing pressure throughout the day, expecting much more from themselves than they ever would of another person.
This scale would provide some comfort in the sense that even though you may be within the depths of your mood, you have the ability to swim upwards, away from the dark abyss and into warmer and brighter waters. I feel this scale can be comforting in reassuring and centering yourself during stressful times, as well as providing a visual representation of how you are feeling for others to see and relate to.
